Posted: July 14, 2019

Updated: August 24, 2025

Adult ADHD ADD Tips and Support Podcast – Journaling For Clarity. This podcast is an audio companion to the book “The Drummer and the Great Mountain – A Guidebook to Transforming Adult ADD / ADHD.”

In this episode, we’ll discuss a simple 4 step process for journaling that can help you get clear, untangle, and set a good direction when you’re feeling stuck or overwhelmed. Based on the general principles of Dr. Marshall Rosenberg’s Nonviolent Communication (NVC) method, we’ll cover — in detail — the tools you’ll need, the concept of “needs”, how to untangle from repetitive thoughts, and review several examples of how to use the process.
